19 of the Russian's 21 victories have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his first trophy for over two years with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult period, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the American major.

Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in specific - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-time trainer Gilles Cervara.

Currently training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, he has gradually advanced in the past month - peaking in a closely contested three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents the player's maiden title since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court after that period of that year.

Victory also indicates Medvedev has secured twenty-one titles at twenty-one distinct competitions.

"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I won when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his last six finals, including in the German tournament in the past months.

Medvedev's defensive approach and regular reactions on the tennis court had caused observers to doubt if his capacity to play at the top level was concluded.

But the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, attempting to advance forward and play aggressively, reinforced by an improved serving game.

Medvedev came back from a deficit in the first set against the tricky Moutet, taking 4 of the last five games to take the lead.

Both players traded service breaks in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his first ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to push for a third set.

He rescued four early chances in a tight final set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to secure the win.

Suitably, the winner secured the title with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
